The automotive manufacturer says it’s ready to meet the future of electric and smart transport technologies.
ZF has announced a modular electric driveline as well as autonomous driving technology.
American German manufacturer ZF announces that it has reached a further milestone in its "Next Generation Mobility Strategy" which includes a new portfolio of electric commercial vehicle technologies.
The announcements were made at the company’s testing facility in Jeversen, Germany
during its ZF Global Technology Day 2022.
"The trend towards automated, connected and electrified vehicles represents a huge commitment in development costs for OEMs. With our wide range of integrated solutions, ZF offers customers the opportunity to be at the forefront of technology, while reducing their development efforts," said ZF Board Member Wilhelm Rehm.
One of the flagship technologies announced was ZF’s modular electric driveline for heavy duty commercial vehicles known as CeTrax 2.
As well as electric vehicle parts the company also announced technological solutions and platforms for commercial applications.
SCALAR is ZF’s digital solutions platform for fleets which enables an efficient application of transport-as-a-service (TaaS).
Autonomous driving technologies were also announced. Adopt 2.0 is ZF’s autonomous system for slow-moving vehicles going up to 20km/h., while Adopt 3.0 can be used for highways applications as it can reach speeds of up to 80km/h.
The company’s CEO, Wolf-Henning Scheider, says he is confident ZF is ready to meet the future of transport technology.
"ZF’s latest annual global technology showcase once again demonstrates how well positioned ZF is to meet challenges and maximize opportunities for the future. By increasing diversification, entering new markets, achieving greater technology penetration and pursuing our proven sustainability strategy, significant progress has been achieved by ZF at the very forefront of e-mobility, automation and connected, software-defined vehicles," says Scheider.
